General Information

To collect your vehicle you will need:

  • Driving Licence

  • Proof Of Address (Utility Bill, Bank Statement).

  • Credit or Debit Card

  • DVLA Check Code (of the driver)

Discounts are available for periods of continuous hire in excess of one month.

Long term contract hire (minimum 3 months) can be arranged at competitive rates.

Conditions of Hire

ALL rentals are for UK mainland ONLY.

Conditions of hire are printed on the reverse of the Hire Agreement.

The following information is for easy reference but our staff are at your disposal to answer any queries or provide additional information.

Drivers Licence & Other Requirements

All hirers and drivers must be between 25 and 70 years of age and produce a valid licence, which has be held for at least twelve months, and is free from any serious endorsements.

Additional identification (e.g. a utility bill or Bank statement) will also be required (confirming the address on the driving licence.

A Credit Card is required on file to secure the booking.

DVLA Check Code is now required for the assigned driver. Alternatively, NLVTH staff are able to obtain the information required if provided with the drivers National Insurance number and Driving Licence – please call for further information.

ONLY the hirer and drivers approved at the time of hire are permitted to drive the vehicle.

Insurance / Vehicle Damage

Vehicle insurance is included within the price of hire. Hirers are responsible for the first £1500 excess of any damage which will be reduced to deposit.

Tyre & wheel damage, punctures, lost wheel trims, lost or stolen exhaust system, missing fuel caps, broken aerials, loss of any parts (including spare wheel tools, radio, lenses, mirrors etc), interior damage & overhead damage to vehicles is not covered by insurance or CDW (Collision Damage Waiver) and in these cases, the hirer is liable for the total cost of repair or replacement.

Excessive cleaning charges incurred due to misuse will also be passed onto the hirer.


Windscreens are part of the vehicle and are covered by insurance. However in the event of damage to windscreens or windows (broken, chipped or cracked) the hirer’s liability is limited to a maximum of £100.


The hirer is required to pay for fuel used during the hire. Any extra fuel left in the vehicle at the end of the hire is not credited.


Payment of the total cost of the rental (including VAT and deposit) is required upon collection of the vehicle. With the exception of approved account holders.

Extension of Rental

If you wish to extend your rental beyond the original date of termination, it is essential that you inform us in advance. Additional Charges MUST be made to secure the extension and to ensure the insurance on the vehicle is extended.

Failure to notify us will result in additional charges and you will NOT be insured to use the vehicle.

Hire Period

The charges are strictly for the period of hire stated. Any late return or hours will be charged.

Advance Booking

Advance bookings can only be confirmed upon receipt of a deposit or credit card details.

In the event of the vehicle reserved being unavailable, an alternative from the same or higher group will be supplied. The rate for the model originally reserved will be charged.
